could have been better

it was cool, at first it was awesome, but the more you play, the more you notice the plotholes and annoying parts.

Plot holes:
1) why would you compete against someone to protect yourselves? wouldnt you just team up?
2) if jeff was turning into a zombie, how can he still help you? how long does the transformation take anyways? a month?
3) where the hell would a giant torch zombie come from?
4) why didn't the airplane whisk us away to safety after seeing the explosions?
5) how would we get more hours of daylight? does our killing zombies somehow make the earth turn faster?

annoying parts:
1) its really hard to aim correctly when your cart skids around after you stop pressing the arrow keys.
2) its even harder to survive with the cart locking up whenever it gets to the edge of the screen to scroll around the map. you can't get out of it quickly enough and you lose precious time!
3) the mines were more of a nuisance than helpful advantage. they empowered torch zombies and killed boomer zombies. can you imagine exploding both a boomer and torch in the same area? it's a bitch to kill the torch zombie after all those buffs!
4) you never introduced the zombies with the drums of toxic waste/oil or something
5) you should make special zombies less rare than regular zombies. because there is no point in having mines if a swarm of torch zombies come in like the first few levels they appeared.
6) there should be a way to kill boomers without spreading the gas.

of course im not an asshole whos just going to make fun of your game.

things i liked:
1) that each zombie had its weaknesses and strengths (except boomers)
2) the idea of power generators
3) the light up the sky idea
4) the upgrades and their branches/tiers
5) the plot

thanks! enjoy reading this reviews! they give me the motivation to do another and BETTER GAME!!!!

glitches

after i lost, i clicked before the choices could show up and spawned in a wall. then i ran off the game into the grey part underneath the playable area.

also, once you get to the top of the castle and it starts to rain, you fight the boss. but if you die, then you restart on the bottom of the castle with it still raining. this causes much lag.

Skribble-Style responds:

Yeah sorry about that man, I'm still working on a few bugs, but when I finish the new version should be fine.

glitch

in mouse mode on the island if you run to the edge you get stuck. you appear on both sides of the screen and cant move (except jumping).

SirRealism responds:

Hmm, I don't know what exactly is the problem here. I understand you, but I don't have the same problem. I will look into it, though. Thanks for the report.

ehh

it was ok. but i think the ending was bad. you should have made them capture both of them and you had to escape again.

JunkYardAnimations responds:

.... thats what happened! lol, they did both get captured.. and in the sequel u have to escape again

grrrr glitches!

argh! the game was awesome. but there were many glitches. first of all, the art. not the style, the style was awesome. but like at the end. you could tell that they didnt jump OUT of his mouth, they jumped from behind it. the roof of his mouth especially. second, the skill points had much room for improvement. i couldnt tell what i completed from what i still had to do! the points always sad NaN for some reason, no matter how many people i killed. third, is when you get to be the yellow guy. its not that much of a bonus, considering he cant eat anything. also, when he is respawned, he gets no spawn-invincibility, so you just keep getting knocked down and eventually die. fourth, theres the movies in between. when you play as the yellow guy, the movies still show the white cruncher dude instead of the yellow guy. sigh...so many glitches with the yellow dude. fifth, when he gets knocked down, his weapon dissapears momentarily. Sixth, when you fight the officer the first time, sometimes he becomes invincible after he runs out of health and you cannot hit him. seventh, in the skill points menu, one of the accomplishments is to set your lives to 0 and make it to the mall, which is impossible since you die once your lives hit 0, and the meter only goes as far as 1. eighth, i think you should make a different minigame when youre driving when you play as the yellow guy. ninth, when you go to the megatech building and the other guy comes to help, and youre playing as the yellow guy, instead of the white guy helping, another yellow guy is helping you. tenth, when you get the hats option in the pause menu, they are pretty much useless when youre playing as the yellow guy, since they only work on the white cruncher dude.

oh yeah, i saw the picture on the elevator. "This elevator can only hold the weight of a single easter egg." I thought i could click it, but i was wrong :[

8/10 for glitches, otherwise 10/10

I-smel responds:

Okay half of that wasn't anything to do with glitching, but still pretty informative.
Since you numbered em- Am I supposed to go through them? I will anyway.

1: His stomach is a cavernous void.
2: A couple people said the points say NaN. I can't get them to say that. Sorry. What happens for me is that the white circle next to the Skill Point description turns green.
3: Keep in mind I had to bend the rules of the whole game to get you to play as him. It's not a bonus, it's just an alternate way of playing. If he was more fun to play with than the main character, I would've made him the main character.
I didn't notice about his respawn thing, I should fix that.
4: You want me to do two versions of every cutscene? It's only gonna be like 3% of people that complete it anyway, it wouldn't be anywhere near worth the time. If you've completed it once you're gonna skip those things anyway.
5: I was just being lazy here to be honest.
6: I can't get this to happen, but once I do I'll try n fix it.
7: You get the point if you do it with 1 life anyway.
8: Well you're driving AND shooting in both versions. Again, I'm not going crazy with extra content for the scarce handful of people who play through it twice. I'M ONLY ONE MAN. IT TOOKE ME ALMOST HALF A YEAR.
9: Okay this is the first and only Flash beat-em-up with a functioning AI co-op character. If you think I can do it TWICE and have the computer decide what's edible, what to eat and when to eat things, you are crazy. I'm no genious. And considering this guy's so broken, you seemed to get pretty fuckin far with him.
10: Just couldn't be bothered drawing all the hats twice.

Thanks for giving it an 8 despite all this crazy business.

pretty good

lots of room for improvement though. maybe a freelance mode as well. During the game, there were practically no sounds at all. You could put sounds for each time you get a pellet or each time you eat another microbe. And theres no actual point in dividing your microbe in 2 once you get infected, since youll die off right after, so take that out. And you restricted too many abilities. maybe make it so when youre infected, you only get abilities you can use. but it was fun.

HeroInteractive responds:

There are different strategies that you can use in the game whether you're infected or not. It's just a matter of figuring out what works best for you, which it sounds like you did! Thanks for the ideas.

this was totally copied XP

theres this one game, i forgot what it was called, i think galcon. it was like this, but without the part with the functions of the star systems. and they werent star systems, they were planets. and there were no defenders. anyways, the gameplay was practically the same.

galcon had better graphics, and is 6th in january's top 10 downloadable games. so just look up january's top 10 downloadable games.

The odds are that you played that game, and made this one. The similarities are way too common in both games. you should have at least given some credit to galcon.

but it was good i guess, 2 points off for copying, 2 more points off for quality.

alienpro responds:

I love Galcon, but it's not original either. I started playing VGA Planets waaay back, then Stars!, then Hegemony at Skotos, Master Of Orion, the list goes on. They are all derivative of each other, but with a new slant in each. I've played them all, and pulled ideas from them cos they're all great. But I'm trying to do my own thing here.

I played VGA Planets with a bunch of mates over the course of a couple of months, and I think that was the best gaming experience of my whole life. Anyone else here played VGA planets??

Galcon I think was the first space rts to work well at quick games, and thats what I've tried to learn from it. Thanks Phil for Galcon!!

zomg D:

this is totally a less addicting copy of the sequel to "defend your castle!"
remember? that one old game, where you have a castle, and the sticks come chase and attack your castle? and you have to protect it by throwing them in the air?
anyways, i dont mean "defend your castle!" i mean its sequel. i wish i could make a link ><

EggysGames responds:

You mean Pillage the Village I believe, and this is different to that. Different type of game, it just happens to involve your mouse.

meh

nothing new here =/ except you dont have to attack with a button. but i have to admit...pretty addicting...lol...i finished all the jewel cups XP too lazy to get element cups XP

TheMillz responds:

Nothing new? Please find me something similar to this...

what...the...freak? :D

it was ok, but the only way you can flame someone is to flame your own ally, cause its the only thing that is close enough since th enemies are on black tiles and youre on white. also, my main character somehow moved ONTO another orc. after that, i couldnt move him. then after all my allies died, all of the squares lit up green and when i clicked one, the green dissapeared then reapeared. like i was playing, but my character was invisible, and there was a clone that was yellowish of my character on the field.

Thunder-Hawk responds:

Burn spell works well, no one complained yet - nor friends nor the burned enemies :-) You just have to come close enough (i.e. 3 squares or less, but not to the closest vicinity).

I am a fair commentor and grader, though I may not see the game or movie like you, i have my own opinion. My comment may be rated as useless most of the time, but it follows the guidelines ask of. It has constructive criticism as well as my reasons.
